Mid-Atlantic Quail Bioregion Projects

The facts are stark. Quail populations in the Mid-Atlantic which have plummeted in the last century are now nearly gone. There are lots of reasons, but one of the biggest is the loss of native warm season grasses they need to survive. The grass we have in our pastures and lawns won’t work for these birds. The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation (SVBF) is trying something new – to combine battlefield preservation with quail restoration. SVBF is a small non-profit located in New Market, Virginia that depends on its contributors to fund special projects like this one. Without the support of folks that care about the plight of our Mid-Atlantic bird populations, this project won’t happen. Please support this creative project with whatever contribution you can afford today.
